Happy Wednesday! How can we be just one week away from Christmas??? I can't believe this time next week we'll be in the thick of celebrating. Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my Christmas home tour so far, today I'm sharing our Entry with you. I actually shared this space before Thanksgiving on Instagram so if you follow there you might have seen it already. But of course after I posted it there I changed and added a few things, so here's what I ended up with!
You'll probably see my big stars in this spot every year- I love the color and interest they add to an otherwise blank space. I've bought most of mine at Ikea over the years and occasionally there will be a year when Target carries some. They are usually just come in white or gold, though, so I've spray painted several of mine. Multiple very light coats is the key, and by the time you've had them hung for a month they are plenty dry and cured to fold up and store with no problems. I have a few that I painted 3-4 years ago and they are holding up perfectly!
I added these really fun honeycomb trees this year. I knew I wanted to use one on my Entry table but I cannot buy just one of something like this- what if I find a spot to use them some year where I need a pair?? 🤣 So I bought 2 not sure what I would do with the second one, and by the time it was all said and done I found the perfect spot- you'll see it below! You've had a little peek months ago when I bought these tall red (and pink too!) nutcrackers and one of them fit in just right next to the tree.
All of the other trees with the exception of the pink felt are ones I've had for years now, I've got quite the collection and enjoy pulling them out every year so much!
If you've followed along for a while you might remember about 5 years ago when I thrifted some ceramic houses and then spray painted them all different colors. (Most of the small ones came from Walmart for about $2, they're usually easy to find.) They are so fun to add into the mix!
Have you been around long enough to remember when I thrifted this set of lamps and painted them? I just looked them up and that was over 11 years ago- and no surprise they're a different color now than where they started!
Here's where the other honeycomb tree landed! I have to get creative at Christmas when I move my plants that are usually on the tables in the Living Room and Entry, this one is just perched in a pot on top of the large vase.
Last year I had a bunch of 8" disco balls hanging on my tree, but they didn't really show up that well on the flocked tree so I wanted to find another spot for them this year. When I first shared this space on IG I had 3 disco balls hanging over the front door, but my brain decided I needed to fill that whole space! Worst spot ever to try to photograph, but you get the idea!
