My friends that organized the shower decided that they wanted to make it a couples shower, and it was so much fun! Caleb loves to play disc golf, and my friend had the idea to borrow some disc golf baskets and make it the theme of the shower. I think she had about 6 stands that were spread out around the property to let the guests have some fun! The hostesses set up this cute table to welcome people as they arrived.
One of them had a friend make buttons from some of the engagement pictures that everyone could wear at the party then take home as a favor.
They also had some frisbees for favors with stickers in the center marking the occasion. (Did you spot the puffy gold hearts I've shared a few times? I'm telling you, they come in so handy for lots of different occasions!)
And, they ordered the cutest little golf pencils and made up score cards for the game!
The happy couple and the parents-
Such a fun evening!
They were so blessed to receive such nice gifts to start furnishing their home together!
Our dear hostesses (missing a few here who weren't able to attend) just went above and beyond to make it a special evening for Caleb and Kenzi! We could never repay their time and talents and investment in organizing and hosting such a lovely shower, but of course we wanted to share a little token of love and appreciation for all of their efforts!
When possible, I really like to give gifts that are personal for the recipient. We had a larger group of hostesses, so it was a bit of a challenge to find a gift that was meaningful and personal while still sticking to a budget when multiplied several times over. After considering several options, we settled on gifting pretty candy dishes (filled with the best puffy peppermints!).
I found a few candy dishes at Homegoods but not enough, so I ordered some of these pretty crystal candy jars too. (I ordered several different ones but liked this one the best!) I also really like these because they can be used as a pretty little storage jar for so many other things too!
To make each gift a bit more personal, I also selected a Christmas ornament from Hobby Lobby for each hostess that reflected something of their interests, hobbies, or personality and tied that to their gift bag. (Beach ornaments for those I knew loved to vacation there, ornaments to mark special occasions I knew they had had that year, a few that were pretty designs that would complement their decor, and the cutest stick of butter ornament for our pie baker! I used a fine tip paint pen to inscribe the ornament on the bottom or back with my son & daughter-in-law's names and the wedding date (you can see a bit of that around the bottom of this one). Our hope was that when our sweet friends see the ornament on their tree at Christmas that it will be a reminder to pray for the new couple!
I batted around some other ideas as well, and have included those below along with lots of suggestions that some of my friends on Instagram made when I asked for them to share their ideas as well. These work for any type of hostess gift you might need, not just wedding shower hostesses. Hopefully this is a good resource- with a variety of price points- if you need some new gift ideas! I'll add some links here and there to options I think are cute. And remember, even the most basic or practical of gifts are so much more special when they are packaged beautifully... presentation makes a difference!

ReplyDeleteWhen scrolling through your blog with accompanying photos any time I touch a photo it goes gray. Right when I’m trying to focus and see the photo, it shadows. Can anything be done to remove the grayed out photos while viewing?
