PAMPAS GRASS, FLORAL FANS, PUMPKIN AND PINE CONE THANKSGIVING TABLE

One week and counting!  I'm hosting my family for Thanksgiving this year, and while I set a Thanksgiving Table every year to share inspiration with you, it will be nice to actually sit down to it this year on the big day!

This year my centerpiece was my starting point.  I was totally awed and inspired by the stunning florals that Leah from Ribbon and Blooms created for my son and daughter in law's wedding.  (We should have the professional photos really soon and I'll share with you!)  She made the most gorgeous piece for the altar that was also used at the reception, I haven't been able to quit thinking about it!  I already had several similar elements that she used for the base of the arrangement and loved the color palette, so I thought a loose spin on it would made a pretty Thanksgiving centerpiece.

I started with a layer of leaf clippings from my yard- just placed the sprigs right on the table.  These should stay green enough for the next week to be fine.  Then I layered in some pampas grass and the colored dried fans and a few more leaf springs around the top.  I got my pink dried palm leaves at Hobby Lobby earlier this year but here is a wide variety of natural colored ones.

The flowers are two bouquets of spray roses mixed with a few stems of Alstroemeria tucked in.

I added some glass and metal pumpkins, large sugar pine cones, and a few candles to finish it off.

When I added the place settings I snipped off any leaf sprigs that were encroaching too far onto the plates and tucked them into any bare spots in the center.

While compiling my last post of all of my past Thanksgiving tables, I noticed I use these green chargers almost every year.  They work so well for so many different plate mixes, and I just love them!  They were a long ago Bordallo Pinheiro score from Ross.

I wanted a bit of pattern with the dishes and my black and white spotted plates were perfect for that but I kept the rest of them simple.  I had an old post saved from Instagram so I would remember this bow napkin fold, isn't it so cute?

It's super easy to do.  Even if you don't have napkin rings you could just tie the middle with a little piece of ribbon or jute, or even a small hair elastic rubber band.  I did a quick video demonstration to share with you-

I've been collecting the vintage hobnail glasses for years and finally have enough of the large tea size to use for a full table, and we'll pass around the "bubble pop" (Welch's sparkling grape juice) for the smaller ones.

I'll seat people at my kitchen table also and will do a similar, complementary although not exact table setting there as well.

I chose flowers that will hopefully last a while so now if I can just keep them alive for the next week we'll be in good shape! 😂
