Happy Friday... Happy February... happy all the things! We've been iced in all week until our temps got high enough to melt everything off yesterday afternoon and the sun has been out, it's glorious! I got our porch all decorated for Valentine's Day before the bad weather hit but took advantage of time time cooped up to sprinkle some little Valentine's Day decorations around inside. I don't do much, I find myself focusing on some entry and mantel decorations for the most part and calling it good!
I actually kept the entry table very simple and just had some fun with the mirror!
I found these small honeycomb hearts at Hobby Lobby with their Valentine's Day decorations. They are actually sold as a hanging garland, connected with clear fishing wire. I intended to leave them as is and just hang them streaming down the mirror, but the clear line was bugging me so I just cut it off. I did find it helpful though to space the hearts pretty evenly, but I did some eyeballing on that too and it worked out fine.
Tip: One side of the hearts have an adhesive intended to fully open the heart and have a 3D shape, but I wanted to keep them flat across the back against the mirror. The adhesive that was already on the heart worked well for that side, and I started off by using some double sided photo splits to attach the other side to the mirror, but for some reason they wouldn't stay stuck! I ended up just using a tiny dot of hot glue on each side of the heart I was having trouble with to attach them right to the mirror. I'll be able to peel it right off (with a dull butter knife or razor blade if needed) when I take them down with no damage to the mirror.

I kept the colors simple, sticking with white, red, and pink (other than the blue and white lamps) and shopped my house to use these lattice jars that are usually in my bedroom, found them years ago at Homegoods and Hobby Lobby. I have a couple of glass heart ornaments that I've had forever and this pretty red one was perfect to display with this little vignette.
Moving into the Living Room, here's the mantel! I had it just about finished before I did the entry, but after adding the hearts to the entry mirror I decided I wanted a few here too! They are also from Hobby Lobby and a few of the smaller ones I had left over from the entry were cute to scatter along the mantel.
Otherwise, it's kind of my usual players that y'all see me move around in different spots... the busts, topiaries, and DIY XOXO sign that doubles as my FA LA LA sign at Christmas! The garland was a simple DIY that I made several years ago with hearts from Dollar Tree that I added some pom poms to, you can get a similar look with this garland as a starting point.

My future daughter-in-law gave me this little disco ball planter for my birthday last year, I think she knows what I like! :)
I did add just a few things to this little corner of the Living Room too, those little felt envelopes are so sweet!

Everything looks fantastic, as usual! The link for the pink taper candles worked, but the candles it linked to did not have a pink option. Is there a different link we could use? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh strange, it was there last night! I just updated the link above so it should be good now. Thanks for letting me know!
