First, here's a look at the rug! I've got the 9x12 laid out here but think I might actually get the 10x14 instead. We're hoping to put wood floors in here maybe next year so a little bigger would be nicer for the space.

Things were somewhere in between Fall and just starting to set up for Christmas when I snapped this photo. I hadn't even planned on sharing this with you here so I didn't do a great job of documenting. But guess what? It's basically the same rug as the pink one, just a different color and slightly different pattern. I love this brand so much and it's pretty affordable!
I've layered a rug over carpet in several rooms in my home, but the 9x12 pink rug is the largest rug I've done that with. It wasn't too bad, but I was getting a little bit of a divot/pucker under the furniture and coffee table legs since the rug wasn't lying on a hard surface underneath. So, when I laid the pink rug last year I searched around for a solution and came up with something that has worked out great.
As I mentioned, I originally just quickly shared this on Instagram last week and hadn't planned to share it here. However, I know many of you aren't on IG and thought you might find this tip helpful as well. All that to say, I filmed this video for IG and not the blog so it's a little rough and mis-sized but I think you'll still get the jist. 😁
These are the plates that I used, they're cheap and should be available at any hardware store. They really have made a difference so I hope this tip helps you if you've had a similar problem.
As I mentioned, I love these rugs. I have several versions in different rooms in my home-
If you're in the market for a new rug, here are a few other colors and styles that I like from the same brand, really love that red one!

It has such a vintage look and I love the bright color.
DeleteI think I NEED this rug! Love it! Can’t wait to see your Christmas decor! Deborah
ReplyDeleteIt's such a good one... durable but soft!
DeletePatiently awaiting the rest of your Christmas tour! Deborah
DeleteThe green rug is perfection! Pulls the other green colors in the room together. Love the jewel toned stools too!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBeautiful! Your rooms are always so well coordinated and out together! Can you provide information on where you found your coffee table, please? Thanks so much! Can’t wait to see your Christmas decor!
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you! The coffee table is vintage and a very nice friend gave it to me. :)
DeleteYou have the best recommendations! I have the black 9 x 12 in my cart.
ReplyDeleteOh fantastic, I hope you love it!
DeleteGuess I am a generation of decor behind you, lol? While you are calming down, I'm more into the hot pink, I so fell in love with the Safavieh Monaco 243D rug- and if you need to change this info for my comment, that is fine, I just wanted to share how much I am in love with it! - I just had two rugs, at 8x10 each delivered from Amazon at a great price. Just absolutely vitalizing and gorgeous. For my old 1880 built home that someone years ago made a weird open concept two living rooms, so 2 8x10's really bring the entire area together! My upstairs rooms are more neutral, with bold floral accents here and there, trying to bring the new vibrant colors along. But please never give up your unique love of color here, I rely on you for letting me know I am ok with my own choices. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI'm not calming down for good, just switching things up a bit! 2 other pink rugs elsewhere in the house... ha!
DeleteNo-o-o-o-o-o!!!! Please don't ever tone down very much. I absolutely LOVE looking at your colorful decor and HOT PINK is my favorite color. I love how you mix so many bright colors together. You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your bright colors, which is what brought me here in the first place. I’ve been following you for years. While I like the neutral looks that are all the trend right now, they are just boring and cookie cutter. Seems like it all looks the same and everyone does it. Which is great, but I love color. Please don’t calm down too much! I love your colors and they bring me joy.
