Does it look familiar? Remember this sign that I shared with you here that I made for Christmas?

I liked it so much that I decided to do another for Valentine's Day, substituting the "FA LA LA" for "XO XO XO."  And once I got to looking at it, I didn't have to purchase any new supplies except the letters!  The back of the sign I used for Christmas was perfectly clean and usable except for the sawtooth hanger that was attached, so I just removed that and was able to just make my sign reversible... one side for Christmas and one for Valentine's Day!

I debated writing a tutorial as I made this sign since I already told you the basics, but took the opportunity to practice my video skills this go-around.  They came up a little short when after filming I couldn't get the frame positioned horizontally like I planned, but oh well!  I actually filmed and edited it all myself without help from my kids- ha!  I know that's not actually much of an accomplishment but it's my first time, so I'm somewhat pleased.  I have a long way to go so bear with me, but I want to start making more videos when appropriate for a project.

Also, this might seem like a very elementary project and tutorial for some of you, but I always try to keep in mind those of you who might not be as "crafty" and aren't confident attempting a project like this.  I'd like to encourage more of those friends to try it!  I don't always want to be posting only long, possibly intimidating projects, but have a goal this year to post more simple, quick projects too.  So I hope this is helpful to some of you who might not normally attempt a project like this.

I did alter the stripe pattern just a bit this time and I used different letters.  These are the letters I used this time, I liked the corrugated ruffly texture for Valentine's Day.  They came as galvanized metal but I gave them a quick coat of gold spray paint.

So without further adieu, here's the tutorial!

Supply List:
Wooden Sign
XOXO Corrugated Metal Letters- I like these too
Gold Spray Paint
Craft Paint colors of your choice- one small bottle of each color was enough
Foam brushes- large and small might be helpful depending on your stripe size
Hot glue gun and glue

I'm curious... do you prefer a written tutorial with still shots or a video tutorial?  And, as I work to build my video content, would you pretty please subscribe to the You Tube channel I just created? You'd be among the first... ha!  Thanks so much!
