FRIDAY FAVORITES (9)
So did everyone have a great time last night? We did! I suspect there will be some kids with serious candy hang-overs at school today! Here we have a boy who wanted to dress up like his Dad...salt & pepper hair, name tag and all, and a girl who is Uncle Si with his tea cup and pitcher. The last minute beard turned out ok, thanks to cotton batting and silver spray paint!
On to my Friday Favorites round up...
I once had a reader ask me how to tell is something is real brass. I wasn't sure what to tell her, but Julia wrote a great post about How to tell if something is real brass. (She effectively responds to a not-so-nice commenter, too!)
I always carry a small tape measure in my purse...it comes in handy at the thrift store...and I guess I need to throw a magnet in there now too!
The Modern and Fresh Fall tours wrapped up yesterday, and boy, was it full of great inspiration! I'm totally borrowing this idea from Caitlin at Desert Domicile sometime...
And speaking of Fall decor, many of you commented on my nature art from my home tour. I didn't really give any details on that, but if you want to know more you can read all about it over at Word Slingers.
For my OKC friends, don't forget about the India Jewelry Sale going on tomorrow. These pieces are a BARGAIN...you won't be disappointed and you can knock out some serious Christmas Shopping! Click here for the details.
Finally, I want to thank a few friends who have featured some of my projects lately. Emily at 52 Mantels for my new kitchen chairs, CNN.com for my Craigslist Antlers, and Centsational Girl as well as Abby M. Interiors for my Early Fall Tablescape. Those links have lots more inspiration to browse through, in case you need some great weekend reading material!
Speaking of the weekend, I hope you have a great one. We're planning a day trip to do some fall sightseeing and other than church lots of nothing! How about you?

ReplyDeleteLOL OMG that picture. Do you know that there were several readers that told me I was mean? I wasn't trying to be mean, just sticking up for myself ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
That is good to know about brass not being magnetic. I love Julia's post to Thom, the mean commenter. Julia I don't think your response was mean at all! I've had one mean comment once too and think it's funny someone would take the time to comment on something they didn't care for on a DIY or design blog - seriously? - this isn't world politics we're discussing! Jennifer I love your kiddos' costumes - so creative and funny!!!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me curious to hear what Julia had to say. I'm guessing that Uncle Si is on Duck Dynasty?? Enjoy your low-key weekend!
ReplyDeleteBecause of reading that post by Julia I did start carrying a magnet in my purse :) Have a great weekend Jennifer! xo Kristin
