Hello everyone! I'm a LITTLE slow getting back into the blogging loop after the holiday last week. July 4th is always one of our favorite holidays. As I heard my uncle put it, the Fourth is the best because it's a no pressure holiday. For sure!
Our tradition every year is to go to my hometown parade in Bethany, OK., and then spend the afternoon at my parents house just relaxing and hanging out. This year the weather was absolutely gorgeous-not steamy or stifling as usual-so we ate lunch and then sat in the back yard all afternoon watching the kids play.
Here's a few snapshots from the day. I've tried to edit them down from the hundreds I usually take.
At the parade...
Candy bags in hand!
My sister, her boyfriend Micah, and her "kids"... Denmark must be embarassed.
The whole crew...
Crazy cousins...
Holiday decor courtesy of Sarah...
Simple... greenery from the yard, milkglass, and craft supplies.
Even the kids need a little sparkle at their table!
Favorite backyard activities at Bree and Grandad's house...the rope swing (that I used to swing on too!) and a little target practice with the bb gun.
I made these Pinterest inspired treats that I highlighted last week, and Sarah made an awesome Pinterest inspired flag cake.
Man, this summer's been busy! I'm off to camp again on Thursday, this time with my girl, but I'll try to round up a project to show you tomorrow!
Looks like a wonderful way to spend the fourth! I love how your family decorates for all the holidays - the table setting is so cute. Also love the photos in front of the flag - that is such a great idea. Have to remember that for next year!
