Since starting this blog seven months ago, I realized there are several things I've mentioned along the way that I need to come back and update you on. So, I'm starting a little series on Wednesdays where I'll go back and revisit something I neglected or forgot to give you more details on...hence the "Way Back Wednesday" title!
The last time I showed you my breakfast nook, it looked like this and there were still several changes that I was contemplating.
One was to switch my table and chairs around and recover the chair seats. I had intended to order a black and white graphic fabric, but when I had leftover fabric from my dining room drapes I decided to save some pennies and just use what I had.
Second, the loveseat got a new lumbar pillow cover. The fabric is by P. Kaufmann
and the pattern is "Slick". I ordered it from fabric.com, although they appear to not have that color any more.
Third, I finally settled on some bamboo roman shades and ordered from Overstock. The selection, prices, and size options were much better there than any local stores I looked at. This window is about 110", larger than any single shade than I could get, so I (meaning Ray) mounted 3 close together outside the frame. I'm happy with the outside mount because it cuts off very little of the view from the window.
Fourth, I switched out my mirror, plates, and shutters for this botanical wall
that I told you about here.
So, here it is all together!
I think I'm officially calling this space d.o.n.e. The only thing I still plan to do is mix up the table and chairs and swap out the table for the one I'm using in the dining room right now, but I'm waiting for my new dining room table to be fitted with a leaf. Home decor at my house is like a row of dominoes...one thing leads to another!

You did a great job here, Jennifer. The botanicals make the space come alive - I love that you created a large piece of artwork using so many. I love woven shades - they add that natural element and look great with the sun shining through.
ReplyDeleteLove those curtains!!!!! Please share where you got them!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Homefire! I don't have an e-mail for you so hopefully you'll check back...I made the curtain panels. The fabric is Waverly and the pattern is "Tucker Resist" in ebony. This is the sun and shade outdoor fabric, but I believe they also make it in a linen mix called "Williamsburg" I believe and it comes in several colors. Here's a link
