If you have young boys, please tell me your house looks like this too:
(No, I haven't dusted that spot in a while.)
It used to drive me crazy, but now I try to let it be a gentle reminder that it won't be like this for long...and treasure each moment.
Aww, I'd love some of those, in a few years you'll have big stinky shoes, oversize backpacks, soccer bags, tennis bags and their friends' socks and clothing they've left at your house. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love this, I have all girls so our invasions are barbie shoes(which hurt just as much as legos!)
ReplyDeleteand princess costumes! ;) But your so right we need to treasure it because before we know it they will be off to college!
xo
You have the right attitude, and I LOVE it! In no time, they grow up and then they're out of the house. It's a little neater and a lot quieter. I had a little "moment" a while back. I was rocking a fussy baby in our church nursery. I gave her her bottle (that's why she was fussy!) and had a flashback to nursing my own children. How many times did I wish they'd hurry and fall asleep so I could clean something or finish some project! At that moment, I wished I could have every one of those minutes I wasn't fully enjoying that sweetness back. I have grandchildren to look forward to, though!

Looks like Caleb has your creative genes :)
ReplyDeleteI have 4 girls, so instead of army men I have ponies, polly pockets and barbies! I take the same approach - it won't be like this for too long.
ReplyDeleteClearly, I'm blog stalking tonight. Hahaha. Reading all your older posts.
ReplyDeleteI cracked up at this because my house is two times as bad. Maybe more. Lol. Gotta love boys.
Love your way of looking at it. You're spot on. :)
