We are meeting with a landscape consultant today and I'm so excited! I got tired of planting and moving and re-planting when things didn't grow well, so I'm calling in an expert to give us some advice. Other than keeping the lawn mowed, we have completely let the back yard go while we worked on the patio for the past year, so I'm ready to get things looking good! I'll keep you posted on the plans, but I've had this image tucked away in my head as a jumping off point...
via paigeminear on Instagram, I'd love the original source if anyone knows it!
Pretty sure this is going to be my weekend uniform once it cools off just a touch more! (Hoodie looks like a slim fit in link photo, but is more of a regular cut. I still sized up one for a loose, comfy weekend fit but my regular size would have been fine had I wanted a normal fit.)

We are very close to heading to NYC for a week! The only other time I've been was when this photo was taken 7 years ago, when we went to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We did a lot of the tourist-y things then, but this time, other than seeing the 9/11 Memorial for sure, we're hoping to just wander and enjoy the city. If you have any other recommendations for fun things to do or yummy restaurants, or even your favorite pizza joint, I'd love to hear them! We're staying close to Union Station but will wander all over town, of course.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone!
have fun in NYC! i need that hoodie and that girls room is SOOOOO you.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to walk the High-Line and to check out The Frick, one of my fave art museums of all time! We loved biking through Central Park as well. Have a fantastic time!!!
ReplyDeleteI just came across the High-Line the other day, it looks so cool! And, there are tons of bike rental specials that I saw perusing Groupon. I thought that sounded like fun! Thanks Cathy!
DeletePaige has a blog. Called The Pink Clutch. Hope this helps and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy home town!!
ReplyDeleteIf you like Sangria and Seafood a must go to is Sevilla Restaurant Bar & Grill in the West Village.
62 Charles Street. Have fun!!
Well my hubby might be interested in the seafood, thanks Stacy!
DeleteTickets to Hamilton are expensive and difficult to obtain but for each performance there is an on-line lottery. Be sure to enter for each performance - maybe you will get lucky! Go to the Hamilton website for details. Also, the pasta special at Becco can't be beat! Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I've already checked on those tickets. I've heard it's amazing, but ouch!! I'll look into the lottery, thanks for the tip! And, we'll check on Becco!
DeleteThe BEST pizza in New York is John's Pizza - hands down! I've spent a lot of time in NYC & tried multiple different places, but this is my favorite:-)
ReplyDeleteExcellent, thanks! I'll make a note. I don't know how but we totally struck out on food last time.
DeleteMy sister used to live in NYC and I loved exploring NYC when I would visit her. One of my favorite "discoveries" was the crepe cakes from Lady M!

DeleteHave so much fun, Jennifer! Make sure to squeeze in a visit to the Met rooftop if you make it to the museum- beautiful art installation and view of the skyline!
ReplyDeleteYes!! That's on my list for sure! We went to the Met the last time we were there, but I didn't know about the rooftop garden so we didn't go up there. I was so upset when I got home and a friend mentioned that being her favorite thing... it's a must this time!
DeleteThanks!
Give Victors Cafe a try on 256 West 52nd. It's a great Cuban place with THE best ceviche in the country! I know because I've tried ceviche from the east coast to west coast and can't find it as good anywhere!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in NYC!
Your home looks beautiful, Jennifer! I just love the every part of your home.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about the Times Square area and most touristy things. But the 9/11 park is breathtaking - both in the enormity of what happened, and how beautifully done it is. My favorite part of the city by far is the East Village. Lots of cool thrift stores, and every restaurant is a mom-and-pop type establishment. Fun neighborhood. I also love China Town in any city. :)
ReplyDeleteFor great Italian food, Carmine's in Times Square is a must! Eat at lunch and take the leftovers for dinner. The portions are plentiful.
ReplyDeleteI love NYC! It's a great city to wander around! I'm with you on the little girls room! It's fantastic. I know my soon to be 9 year old would agree without any hesitation that she needs her room to look like this. She's so done with pink. LOL Thanks for sharing. Happy week to you! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteWe always try to eat at The Smith (Midtown location) when we're in town. It can be a bit noisy but the food is good and it's a great place to people watch. AND...there's a photo booth downstairs near the bathrooms!! We have some hilarious photo memories from past trips. Have a great time!!
