Hello friends, I'm so glad you're here today! I'm delighted to be a part of the 2016 Fall Home Tours hosted by Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. If you're visiting from Setting for Four, welcome! Didn't you enjoy Heather's tour?
If you're visiting for the first time today, let me introduce myself. I'm Jennifer and I live in Edmond, Oklahoma, where my husband is a Baptist minister, and we have two teenagers, a son (dimples) and a daughter (tangles). I adore bold color and mixing patterns, get excited about a great Craigslist score, and am not afraid to get my hands dirty with a DIY project.
It is still a bit early to be fully decked out for Fall, but I added some small touches around the house to usher in the season. I wanted to keep things very simple yet interesting, so I focused on bringing in some cozy colors, accessories found in nature, texture, and mixed metals.

Since I haven't done any outside decorating yet, let's start at the Entry! The mirror and dresser were found on Craigslist and updated with paint. Here's my first example of simple and natural... just a few monstera leaves (that have lasted over a month so far!) with some little brass deer hiding out among the pinecones underneath and a chunky wood lamp.
The Dining Room is directly across from the Entry. I shopped the house last month and moved some of the wall decor and furniture around, and piled most of my blue and white pieces atop the china cabinet.
I've shared my love for mixing metals recently, and I think Fall is the absolute best time to do just that!
In all of Dining Room shuffle that I mentioned earlier, my bird prints no longer had a home, so I tried them in this spot over my curbside find vintage dresser.
$3.99 grocery store flowers look pretty good with a little bit of added greenery and my favorite filler, a bunch of $.99 kale!! Thanks to my sister for letting me borrow all of these fabulous wart-y white pumpkins that grew in her back yard for my photo shoot. They are so darling and I'm going to have a hard time giving them back! ;)
The last stop on the tour today is our kitchen. Almost 10 years ago when we bought this house it had oak cabinets and chipped formica countertops (read more here). If you're a regular follower you know that those pendants have changed as often as the seasons lately ;) . They were red until a week ago. I had been toying with the idea of possibly painting just the interior candelabra part gold and leaving the cage red, but when I saw Sita's and Courtney's gold lanterns on Instagram both in the same day, I was painting the entire fixtures before the sun went down!
Our Breakfast Nook is connected to the kitchen. The botanical gallery wall is one of my all time favorite DIYs, and the chandelier was my Craigslist find that I drove the furthest for... three hours one way, ha! The table is sentimental. My parents bought it for $5 I think at a yard sale. Dad refinished it and they sent it with my husband and me as we were newly married and moving to our first home. It was our first "real" piece of furniture 22+ years ago. Several years ago I had a carpenter add custom matching apron pieces to the leaves so we could leave them in all the time. It will always have a place in our home!
The next stop on today's tour line-up is Nesting with Grace. You will enjoy touring Brooke's darling house, and I just want to sample every recipe she shares!!
If you enjoyed today's tour, I would be absolutely thrilled if you would follow along!
Need more inspiration? Here's some previous Fall related posts. I'll also be sharing new Fall posts periodically for the next two weeks, so I'd love to see you back here!

ReplyDeleteLooks awesome as usual Jennifer! Love the mantel - those wheat stalks with the polka dot ribbon - so cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh it is impossible to pick a favorite vignette! They are all so good but the fur wearing bust made me smile and ask my daughter, The Fashionista, if I could borrow her fur collar.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! This whole tour is just insanely gorgeous, Jennifer! I think my favorite part is the vignette with those warty pumpkins and the kale arrangement - the textures make my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous home tour Jennifer! I love how you mixed metallics with pattern and texture for an inviting take on Fall decorating! LOVE your kitchen chandies :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Heather! Excited to be on the tour line-up with you today!
DeleteI don't know how you do it time and time again Jennifer, but I truly LOVE how you manage to incorporate all your year round beautiful pieces and make it seasonally appropriate! You are just a Decorating Genius I guess! Love your simple foyer and the mantel and those aviary prints! Fabulous as always! So honored to share this home tour with you!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks gorgeous as usual! I love the newly repainted lights in your kitchen! Gold works every time!
ReplyDeleteKalyn, you're so sweet! And you're right... three cheers for gold!! :)
DeleteSuch beautiful new changes for fall! Your arrangement of bird prints look fabulous over that dresser, and the entry lamp is perfect for fall! Wonderful styling, as usual!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, where did you find all your bird prints? Did you frame them? Love how you grouped them! BTW, I'm an Okie transplanted to Florida now but grew up in Tulsa. Oklahoma will always be home!❤️
ReplyDeleteHi Becky! Boomer Sooner! :) I actually bought the set of prints at Barnes & Noble, but that's been years ago and they were on clearance. I found them on Amazon though and put a link under the photo of the busts up there in the post. I framed them the same way I did my botanical prints, all of those details are in this post: http://www.dimplesandtangles.com/2012/02/botanical-gallery-wall.html
DeleteJennifer, Thanks so much for the information! You always have such great ideas! I was blown away by your gingham powder room. My brothers would say Boomer Sooner (OU grads) but I must say Go Pokes! We're a house divided for sure.ha ha 😊 So glad I found your blog.
ReplyDeleteI always love your tours, Jennifer! Seriously love those warty pumpkins, and that gorgeous arrangement you did. What a neat trick, adding kale! Also, great vignette with the bird prints and to answer your IG question, I think they flow nicely and not too much in one spot! Happy fall :)
ReplyDeleteI adore those beautiful wheat bundles. What a fun accent for fall. I also have to echo everyone else's comments about your floral arrangement with the Kale. Very natural and rustic!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, your home has never been more beautiful - and that's saying a lot!!! The pendants in the kitchen look amazing in gold! And I love the collage with the bird prints. Per your post on Instagram, I think they compliment the botanicals in your breakfast area. Everything is gorgeous!!! <3
ReplyDeleteI am happy every time I see your posts. I just love your style and your use of color. I would like to know if the curtains in your LR are dark blue or black? Also, what is the shade of gold that you paint on lots of pieces? I know you have said before on past posts but I couldn't find it. I just love you entire house, especially your powder bath!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The curtains are black, and you can find all the info. about them under the "FAQ" tab just under the header at the top of the page. And, my favorite gold spray paint is Rustoleum Metallic Gold. :)
DeleteThanks you so much for taking time to answer my questions.
DeleteI love this tour Jennifer! You have changed up and it all looks so fresh and pretty! Your vignettes are beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteYour home always gives me so many decorating ideas Jennifer! Love your style and all the color. I have that same plantar head of the dude at my beach cottage. Love how you put the feathers in there. I didn't know your husband is a baptist pastor! My dad was one too when I was growing up. You have a busy job being a pastor's wife for sure, bless you! So good meeting you at Haven and I hope we can meet up again at another event. Happy fall!

Wow! Your home and your fall styling is just stunning! Love all your bold color choices! Pinning away! :) Linda
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your tour! That green cabinet is my favorite thing! If you ever want to give it a new home, I'm your girl! Just a stunning fall tour!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled onto your blog a few months ago and I absolutely love it!! You have inspired me to start transforming my home for boring beige and burlap to color filled with mixed metals. I love that you provide sourcing links for many of your decor items. Your kitchen pendants look gorgeous in gold, as do all of your other gold decor items. What brand / color gold spray paint(s) are you using? I have tried many different golds and can not achieve the desired color and finish. Also, can you provide a source for the vase in your foyer with the monstera leaves? Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteYour home is just gorgeous decorated for fall, I'm in love with your green hutch!
ReplyDeleteHello! Gorgeous pillow combo! Wondering if you could share what sizes are on the living room couch (the leopard print)? Thank you so very much!
