Today I'm so excited to wrap up one of the best weeks in blogland... the Blogger Stylin' Home Tours!
I wanted to thank Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Company for allowing me to once again be a part of this edition. I've participated in each BSHT since the beginning, and I always think they're so much fun! If you're stopping by from Primitive and Proper, thanks for coming! I just adore Cassie's personality-filled home.
If you're new for the tour today, welcome to our home! We have lived in this house almost 8 years, and are slowly but surely working to update it and make it our own. We'll begin our tour at the front porch. I buy these giant Kimberly Queen ferns from Lowe's every year, and with the huge statement that they make, I consider them money well spent!
Come on in, you'll quickly see that I love pattern, color, and transforming second hand finds.
The Living Room got a fresh look for Spring, mainly by switching around pillows and rotating accessories.
I never truncate my posts, but this one is so full of photos I decided to do so on this one. Pretty please click through to see the rest of the tour...
I've noticed some common themes around some of my favorite design blogs lately... namely the color pink and these palm pillows! They are definitely the "it" pillow right now. Of course, I couldn't resist making myself a pair. I used this fabric. It's a more affordable indoor/outdoor version, which is fine with me but just be aware if you choose this one that it's a bit stiff. I like the thought of being able to scrub it down if needed, though!
And, I knew they just HAD to be piped with hot pink. I've always been a lover of the pink/green combo (I need to show you my dress that my Mom and I made for my high school graduation some time), so adding some pink into my green/ blue and white/ black and white color scheme is working out just fine.
One change that my regular readers might notice is that I switched out my curtains. The old ones aren't going anywhere, I just wanted a little change for the Spring and Summer.
They are Ikea Ritva panels that I dyed, then added strips of this fabric to the edges. My sweet friend Bethany made some that are similar a while back, and I've always wanted to do the same.
I've making over my Master Bedroom for the One Room Challenge right now (see my plans here), and these chairs and the green stools are supposed to go in there. They're staying in the living room right now, though, while we work on the bedroom. I'm not sure I can bear to tear them away!
This little corner always makes me happy, especially now with a fun lamp that I switched out in the shelves. With a fresh paint job and left-over fun fabric for the shade, it feels like a whole new piece!
A pop of ribbon trim and some super easy to make tassels finish it off.
Another corner in the living room... almost everything in this photo was a second hand find or a DIY.
I used a tiered serving tray on the corner of my kitchen counter to house herbs that I haven't had a chance to plant outside yet. Super handy (and tasty!).
Our Breakfast Room-
That little stand has been making the rounds!
Lastly, our Dining Room always makes me happy, especially with these fun new candelabras. My friend Pam created them as a knock-off of a much pricier version, and I couldn't wait to make some myself. Be prepared to see these often around here, and why yes... I did spray paint pink stripes on my candles!
I'm so glad to have shared our home with you today. My hope is that you found some new ideas and something to inspire you to create something of your own! If you'd like to see more of our home, please check out my Home Tour, and if you have a questions check out the FAQs tab or my Projects Pinterest Board for things you might have seen in the tour. Otherwise, ask away in the comments and I'll answer as soon as I can.
Next up in today's tour line-up is sweet Claire from Claire Brody Designs. She has just moved in to a new home and is working hard on it, I can't wait to see what she has in store for us!
As we kick off the weekend, if you need some good reading material, check out all of the tours that took place this week. Lots of good stuff!
