Hi there, I'm so happy you're here today for the first part of my Fall Tour!
I'm honored to be a part of this great group of ladies sharing their tours this week, and owe a big thank you to Sonya from At Home with the Barkers and Melissa from Daisy Mae Belle for organizing the Welcome Fall Home Tour. So if you're new to Dimples and Tangles today, Welcome! And to all my old friends, I'm glad you're here today, too, I've been excited to share with you.
So, let's start at the beginning, shall we?
I can never bear to remove my ferns when it's time for Fall, so I just add some color around them. I love this longer, thinner leaf variety of croton, and you want to know a secret?
DIY Black and White Striped Pots here |
I didn't even plant them! I just dropped the pot in the urn and filled the edges with pinecones to disguise the plastic pot. Easy and done, and since they're tropicals I can quickly pull them inside if the temperature ever drops too low at night.
There is a hedge apple tree right across the street from our neighborhood that I stalk every year when they start falling to the ground. Love the pop of bright green!
Now, you've made it through the Entry, so please come back to one of my favorite rooms, our Breakfast Nook.
Botanical Gallery Wall details here |
Setting tables is one of my favorite projects to do. I very rarely purchase anything for my tablescapes, I just shop the house and gather up a variety of objects.
I've had a collection of Bordallo Pinheiro (green) pieces for years. I usually pick them up at Ross, TJ Maxx, or even Tuesday Morning, and I've used them for almost every season.
This time I mixed the Bordallo with my Friendly Village plates, some vintage cane-edged ironstone dessert plates, and gold flatware that I picked up from the after Christmas clearance at Dillard's last year.
The runner is a piece of Waverly fabric that I forgot I had and found it in my stash the other day. Perfect timing for to use it as a pretty base for a Fall table!
More details on polka-dot backed chairs here |
Here's just a few glimpses of the kitchen...have you noticed that plaid is super-hot for Fall? The deer that my sister made for me heard the news and donned a plaid scarf.
My daughter added a reminder to our big kitchen chalkboard calendar... (as if I would forget candy corn!).
The weather is so beautiful, let's move back outside! Our patio always gets spruced up in the Spring, but by the end of the Summer it's pretty worn out. This was a good opportunity to freshen it up again to be ready to enjoy cool Fall evenings.
I pulled an extra sofa table out of the attic and added a lamp and some accessories. It really helped the space feel like a real outdoor living area!
Since Monday evening was the first night of Fall, s'mores seemed appropriate! The kids have perfected making them. My son could sit for hours in front of that chiminea with a pile of sticks and a lighter. ;)
And, we saved a s'more for you!
We had a great evening to kick off this Fall season, and we're looking forward to many more evenings together out back.
Marquee "G" - custom birthday gift made by my sister again. I think I'll keep her! |
Well, I hope you enjoyed the tour! I'll be back on Friday with the rest of my house for the Blogger Stylin' Home Fall Tours. Hope to see you then! But for now, be sure to catch all of the inspiration from these lovely blogs, links will be updated every day as tours are added.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! And those ferns….. I wouldn't have the heart to remove them, either!
ReplyDeleteDo you pull the coffee table on the back porch in every time it rains?
ReplyDeleteI love fall, but am just not feeling like crawling up in the attic to put out any of my decor. Plus, we just did a renovation in the kitchen, dining room and foyer, and I kind of like the "regular" decor that I have in there right now - not ready to change it up! :)
Great job!
I love your dining room and those polka dot chairs are so fabulous. Love, them. Your patio is such an inviting space, I am sure you spend tons of time there. Great tour. I can't wait to see the rest.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! (What do you do with the ferns when it's no longer warm and humid?)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't always save them, but when I do, I have stored them in my garage. I water them once or twice a month, and as soon as we get past freezing in the spring I put them back out and start watering again. They get a little shabby looking, but usually spring back really well!
